clep nursing home

construction of a nursing home

The existing home displays severe deficiencies, both functionally and structurally. A replacement building closer to the town centre of Alveringem seemed the most practicable solution. A conversion would be too expensive and the current site has too little room for expansion.

The new campus will offer a differentiated assisted care: a residential complex for people suffering from dementia, sheltered accommodation for married couples, a care centre and 9 serviced flats. The residential complex for people suffering from dementia follows the philosophy of normalised small-scale living. 2 homes for every 8 residents are connected to a closed and secure garden and community areas. The living areas of the houses link up with one another. The rooms can be joined with a moveable partition wall.

The sheltered accommodations offer an independent way of living for couples, where one of them is badly in need of care or suffering from dementia. Each house is directly connected to the nursing home through a door. The front door overlooks the garden of the residential complex for people with dementia. The care centre for 50 people is divided into 3 care units. While funding is being requested for these projects, the board wants to build 9 serviced flats on the care site with their own resources, with enough room for own furniture.
