The mental health center Asster, for which VK already designed many projects, has installed a cluster "therapy-work-sports" at its central square. As part of this cluster, VK has designed and realised a central therapy building for occupational therapy and training.

By positioning the building straight across the street pattern, it functions as a buffer between the public area and the enclosed delivery area with logistic functions. Also, it is accessible from both sides, making it a bridge between the working and the living aspect of the center.

The construction consists of large therapy areas for manual labour and a warehouse with delivery zone, besides some smaller areas such as sanitary rooms, cloakrooms, a refectory and boiler room. VK approached the design as if it were an industrial building, with large and light rooms. By using mobile elements, the space is easily divided into separate working corners.

The openness of the institution is shown through the considerable amount of glazing. It creates views to the surrounding greenery and the future 'town square'. At the same time, the activities can be observed from the outside. The technical and storage areas are more massive and closed.
