The V-shaped building stands on a wedge-like terrain, on the corner of 2 streets.
The two wings house the rooms and studio's that look out to the garden as well as to the street. The rooms are equipped with an individual wet room. The studio's are composed of a day and night area, and dispose of a kitchenette and a wet room. In the hinge point of the wings there are community areas (on the ground floor) and therapy areas (on the first floor), that can be joined through mobile walls.
The corner joint of the building is completely glazed, housing a cafeteria on the ground floor and 2 adjoining therapy rooms. Mobile walls allow for these areas to be joined. The 2 community areas on the first floor offer a panoramic view on the surroundings. Much attention went to the relation between interior and exterior. As such, the ample glazing of the community and therapy areas have a view on the garden. Terraces offer the opportunity to enjoy nice weather of experience the changing of seasons. The design uses these large openings in the facades, in combination with warm colors, to enhance the healing aspect of the building.
Also, a small-scale impression is created, with regard to the street scene as well as to the inhabitants, by combining various materials in the facade.
