residence ten eeckhoute
renovation and conversion listed building into serviced flats
This senior residence in the heart of Bruges was built in the early 1990s when serviced flats were still a reasonably new phenomenon on the Belgian market. The residence owes its success to a number of factors, including a wide range of options and a luxurious atmosphere. Actually, Ten Eeckhoute offers an ambience between a serviced flat and a hotel. For example, residents can rent or buy one, two or three-room apartments. Meals are served on the lower level in the restaurant, but can also be brought up to the apartments. Of course residents can also cook for themselves in their apartments. The residence also offers such features as a room for card games and billiards, a library, various salons and a small chapel.
Many of the apartments look out over the 1 hectare large courtyard garden. The location in the very heart of Bruges has great appeal to seniors that are still independent and can take care of themselves.
For the senior residence, VK renovated a listed neoclassical building that was then integrated into an entirely new structure. The listed areas on the ground floor were designed as community areas. In terms of layout, the apartments reflect the neoclassical aura and the luxurious ambience.
