building infrastructure, parcelling out
VK took responsibility for design of the sewage system and roads to realise the first phase of a residential village with approx 400 living facilities (of which 185 in first phase).
After the first phase (site area approx 12 ha) phase 2 (site area approx 9 ha) and phase 3 (site area approx 1,5 ha) with social housing and the zone called ‘The Minstrel’ were executed. The specific features of this realisation are the non-classical street patterns and area construction, based on the “New Urbanism” principle.
VK managed the technical translation, of the developmental vision of the residential village, with its separate plots, its zones with terraced housing and multi-family dwellings.
Besides the separate sewage system and the accompanying pumping stations the parcelling out was also provided with a pond and moat, on the one hand as scenic element in the transition between dunes and polders and on the other hand, as necessary storage basins (excess water reservoirs) in a region at risk from flooding.
