Friday, June 10th, at 11 o'clock, the newly completed bridge on the Expresroad (N382), across the Gentse road (N43) in Waregem was opened for traffic. This concludes an important phase in relayouting this dangerous junction with a higher risk of traffic jams. This junction was known as one of the 800 dangerous traffic situations or black spots in Flanders, that the Flemish government selected to be tackled.

The temporary association VK-Duynslaeger-Lobelle-SCES solved the problem by means of a flyover, bridging the Gentse road. The works started in April of last year.

The temporary association VK-Duynslaeger-Lobelle-SCES was responsible for many other projects within the "Black Spots"-programme, such as the junction between the N36 and N43 in the town of Harelbeke, and various junctions on the R32-ringroad around the town of Roeselare.
