In 2007, the Erasmushospital organised an architecture competition for the expansion and renovation of its medical-technical services. The temporary association (TA) VK - Hoet+Minne - Ma² persuaded the management with its 50 years of experience in hospital design and its knowledge on the site. Meanwhile, the general, functional and detailled programmation of the hospital have also been entrusted to us.

In the last 4 years, the TA has been closely cooperating with all parties concerned, in order to create a functional and state-of-the-art design that will contribute to the future development of this large hospital (864 beds). The design phase is nearly completed: a few visualisations give an impression of how the hospital will look.

The building permit request will be submitted in 2011, with the works to start in 2013, and occupation of the renewed hospital in late 2016, together with the new Bordet institute.
