At the end of October, the bi-annual Belgian Architecture & Energy awards were presented at BOZAR. The town hall of Menen was awarded the Renoscripto-award for best renovation. VK ENGINEERING was the engineering firm providing the structural studies of this remarkable renovation, a project with noAarchitecten.

Sponsors of the event, Renoscripto, Wienerberger and Rockwool, each present an award of their own, respectively the Renovation-award, the Brick-award and the Insulation-award, drawing from the nominees list that is put together by the jury. The town hall of Menen was nominated in the category "non-residential", where the 'Boerekreek' of Coussée & Goris Architecten received the award. In the previous edition of the Belgian Architecture & Energy awards, VK ENGINEERING was also a laureate, together with Abscis Ontwerpgroep  -  in 2007, the Sint-Pieterssquare in Ghent was awarded in the category "Public space".
