The first brick was laid on 24 September 2008 at the ‘Sirius’ building that will house the new head office of Belgian mobile operator Mobistar from the second half of 2009. The building will be put up in record time by Banimmo and will stand out for its exceptional performance in terms of energy and comfort. Architects Assar and VK ENGINEERING were commissioned to design the project. Works started in February 2008. Construction of the office building – with an aboveground surface area of 30,000 m² - will be carried out in an exceptionally short time. The works are scheduled for completion on 30 September 2009. Some parts of the Mobistar organisation will be relocated to the new head office as early as the start of July 2009.  
 
In addition to the location and the advantage of housing all activities in one building, Mobistar chose the design for its exceptional energy performance and the building’s intrinsic qualities as regards its size, flexibility, systems and car park.
 
VK ENGINEERING is responsible for designing building services such as high-efficiency condensation boilers, air conditioning by means of ‘free chilling’, recovery of rainwater and automatic switching of low-energy lighting. The installation of photovoltaic panels will reduce the EPB (Energy Performance of Buildings) coefficient by another few points. All measures are being taken to achieve the lowest possible E level, with a target in the region of E75. The current standard of E90 was introduced on 1 July 2008. Most office buildings currently have an E level of between E125 and E150.
