On 20.09.2009 at 20:09 exactly, the new conference centre Square has been presented to the public. Marked by artistic events, the opening of the successor of the former Congress Palace was performed by prince Filip and princess Mathilde. VK ENGINEERING undertook the structural engineering studies of this heavy renovation.

After a thorough renovation of the Congress Palace, built in 1958, the new Square-congress centre wants to attract 250.000 visitors per year, hosting conferences, events and summits. For the year 2010, reservations already exceed all expectations.

The new centre counts 13.000 sqm of conference halls, large auditoriums, an exposition hall, a brasserie and panoramic hall with a spectacular view on Brussels.
