Energyville workshop BIPV

In view of ever more stringent energy requirements (Nearly Zero Energy Buildings, minimum share of renewable energy), photovoltaic technology will become ever more prominent in the built environment. Not only on the technical level (as a prime candidate to fulfil the energy need of a building), but also for the aesthetic appreciation of a building. Indeed, in order to cover the energy need of a whole building, the classic rooftop PV installation will not suffice. PV will need to be applied to or integrated into other parts of the building’s skin. This way Building Integrated PV will unlock new industrial potential, involving the construction and the PV-industry in a cross-disciplinary fashion. This workshop will look into the various angles of this exciting evolution.
