In July 2019, the AP-HP launched a limited project management competition for the construction of the future hospital. On 21 October, the jury selected four groups of architects, including a team of hospital experts consisting of MBA (Michel Beauvais Associés) as the mandatary, Baumschlager Eberle Architekten, VK Architects & Engineers, WSP France, Oasiis, Lucigny-Talhouet & Associés and Hors Champs.
The construction of the Paris-North Grand University Hospital is an important operation as part of the future campus of the "Projet d'Intérêt Général" (PIG) university hospital. Located in Saint-Ouen, north of Paris, the future hospital will be designed for multifunctional clinical and surgical activities, focused on outpatient activities, and will regroup the surgical activities of the Bichat and Beaujon hospitals in Clichy. Given the many challenges involved, the AP-HP considers the project to be the most important operation for the next twenty years.
The selection of our group offers the opportunity to develop a unique global approach, bringing together several skills within a single team, to meet the challenges of an exceptional programme in terms of scale and complexity. This project allows us to combine our architectural expertise, which has already been implemented in a large number of university hospitals.
The construction of the Grand Paris-Nord University Hospital offers our group the opportunity to work on the design of a future-proof building, resolutely urban, connected to its environment, patient-oriented, and energy-neutral. It will house 1,000 beds. The laureate of the competition will be announced in September of next year.
