All executive and support services of the Antwerp Police are centralized in this new building on the Post X site. This comfortable and flexible workplace can accommodate 2,200 employees. In addition to offices, a reception area and interrogation rooms, there is also a press room, and sports and training facilities. This DBFM project has been designed according to the highest sustainability standards. In addition, it meets strict acoustic requirements.

Thanks to a well insulated building, optimal techniques and a maximum surface area of photovoltaic panels, the police are creating a sustainable building that meets today's standards and requirements.
In 2020, the Antwerp Police will move to a new master building at Post X in Berchem. The complex will be on the corner of the Borsbeeksebrug with the Binnensingel, an easily accessible place and an excellent operating base for the entire city. Construction work has started in the meantime.
By 2020, all policy-implementing and policy-supporting services will be centrally housed in the new master building. Reception and community work are the exception and will continue to be spread over various regional and community offices. The Antwerp police also provide a reception function in the master building.
Technically high quality
The new building will be technically sophisticated and ready for the most modern safety technology. One of the spearheads is that it should be a pleasant and flexible working environment. The building must accommodate 2,200 operational and administrative police officers. Here, too, there are acoustically high requirements.
Thanks to a well insulated building, optimal techniques and a maximum surface area of photovoltaic panels, the police are creating a sustainable building that meets today's standards and requirements. But there is more than that. The building is assessed according to the BREEAM certification.
The occupancy rate shows that, on average, workstations in current police stations are only used 43% of the time (people in the field, in meetings, sick, teleworking, on holiday). On the basis of the measurements, it was decided to provide eight workplaces for every ten administrative staff members in the new building. This occupancy rate is lower for operational police officers who frequently work in the field.
On 25 September 2017, the city council gave its approval for this large-scale construction project. The corps relies on a DBFM (Design, Build, Finance & Maintenance) agreement with various partners, including the City of Antwerp, AG Vespa, project developer IRET and contractor Besix.
