VK has succeeded in delivering an innovative and hybrid model, thanks to an intense cooperation with the people who operate it on a daily basis. Individual parent-child spaces, an open environment met adjusted light and sound, and modern equipment support the developmental care for premature and sick newborn babies.
The renewed neonatology is an important step in the realization of a modern mother-child care floor. The service has grown to a surface of 1,700 sq. m., to meet the increasing number of premature babies. It clearly distinguishes various functions: personnel rooms, parent spaces, supporting functions, a local NIC sterilization and the actual NIC room. An open system enables the personnel the offer the necessary care. Survey and control are essential on this critical service. Openness also implies accessibility for the parents. They are essential in the development of the child. Half walls give the needed privacy. Special attention was also given to spaces for family and follow-up.
