This modular building is a replacement construction on the campus Henri Serruys in Ostend of the Saint John General Hospital. The replacement will be constructed in two phases, to ensure a continued operating of the hospital. Through modular building, the phases can pass very quickly and in a minimum of time.
All needed installations are provided for the building to run autonomously and temporarily independent from the other buildings on campus. After occupation of the new building, the older building is demolished and a connection will be made between the modular building and the other hospitals blocks.
The ground floor houses polyclinical functions, with consultation and function rooms along the street side. The other sides contain offices and work spaces. The first floor contains a 16 bed paediatrics nursing unit, and 6 places paediatrics day clinic. In the connecting wing, paediatrics consultation rooms will be installed. The second floor houses a 32 bed general nursing unit, also with consultations and connecting wing. The highest floor offers space for the technical rooms.
