The former Spillebad in Roeselare had become too small and outdated. It has been replaced by a brand new sports complex by Sportoase. The building is easily recognisable by the tower where a slide passes through, functioning as a beacon for the surroundings. This new complex offers swimming pools and other sports facilities on 3 floors. Built next to the stadium, on a part of the existing car park, it is easily accessible.
The ground floor houses a recreational hall with various swimming pools, while a 25-meter pool and instruction pool were installed on the first floor. The complex furthermore has a public gallery, dance hall, fitness room and indoor cycling hall.
Besides the town of Roeselare, the swimming pool also serves the communities om Meulebeke, Ledegem, Staden, Hooglede and Izegem. The cooperating municipalities clearly want to focus on a varied, complementary and supra-regional offer of water recreation in the region.
