Splashing fun can begin in Poperinge
On June 30th, just before the start of the summer holiday, the climate swimming pool De Kouter in the town of Poperinge opened its doors. This enriches the border region of West-Flanders with a prominent swimming pool that offers many possibilities with regard to water sports and water fun. VK Architects & Engineers designed the entire engineering, including sustainable design and energy reporting, of this project designed by LD architecten.
The brand new climate swimming pool De Kouter counts on attracting much attention in a wide area, including the neighbouring north of France. Various questions and enthustiastic comments on the Facebook-page of the swimming pool makes one hope for the best. This week, the swimming pool already had a test-dive from a school in the area.
The swimming pool offers a wide range of possibilities, including a wellness area with sauna and a 58 meter long slide. The school not only offers advanced installations for these various pools. The energy demand of the building is also drastically reduced and the remaining demand efficiently met. Not only a talked-about addition for Poperinge town, but also a valuable reference for VK Architects & Engineers.
