VK assists H&M with first fashion store in Vietnam
On September 9th 2017, the very first H&M fashion store in Vietnam opened its doors to the public. This H&M Flagship Store covers over 2,200 square meters across two floors and is located inside the Vincom Center Dong Khoi, situated in the very heart of Ho Chi Minh City. VK Architects & Engineers took charge of the architecture and interior technical design, building services, fire safety engineering, facade engineering and signage services.
VK Architects and Engineers were asked to support H&M to ensure that all their building and design standards were met, within Vietnamese regulations. Not only did VK support on the interior design and layout, but also on all technical architectural alterations like a full redesign of the inner and outer facade, and especially the complete MEP engineering design including fire safety.
The cooling need was a specific challenge for this project, since the existing air conditioning in the Vincom building did not have enough capacity to cater for the needs of H&M. Judging from the almost 10,000 people waiting outside for the official opening, with the additional cooling our engineers implemented a much needed improvement.
